English for use in the Workplace
We are delighted to announce that as part of the Renfrewshire Local Employability Partnership (RLEP), we will be able to offer a number of funded places to those looking to improve their English Language skills for the purpose of improving employability opportunities and gaining employment.
We have an initial 8 funded places available for each of our courses starting on Monday 6th May & Monday 12th August.

COURSE OUTLINE
Week 1: Searching for jobs.
Week 2: Job applications.
Week 3: CV Writing.
Week 4: Cover Letters.
Week 5: Language for Interviews.
Week 6: Language for Interviews.
Week 7: Language within the workplace.
Week 8: Language within the workplace.
Classes take place twice a week on Mon & Wed 1-2pm.
APPLICATION CRITERIA
- Must live in Renfrewshire.
- Refugees/asylum seekers with poor or no English Language Skills.
- Seeking employment or entering further education
In particular our course aims to help Ukranian working age adults and other refugees and asylum seekers from the most deprived areas with language that will be of use in the workplace.

Our classes take a relaxed pace with a focus on speaking and everyday useful vocabulary. We provide free tea and coffee and aim to create a friendly atmosphere and an enjoyable learning environment.

Our courses run in 8 week blocks. Once you have completed a block you can choose to progress to the next level or repeat the course again until you feel confident.

We have a maximum of 8 people per class. This allows everyone a chance to ask questions and have a go at speaking. It also allows learners to work in small groups and support eachother.

All our teachers are helpful, knowledgeable and approachable. We do not use native speakers as we believe it is important to be taught by others who have learnt the language themselves and understand the process and challenges you are facing as a learner.
